The goal of sustainability policy at ZIG SHENG is to actively "reduce pollution." The company strives to conserve energy and cut carbon emissions, reduce waste, prevent pollution, and recycle materials. Excellent internal and external communication, which emphasizes mutual support, helps us continue to improve.
Climate change impacts the entire world and contributes to global warming, which causes flooding and excessive heat waves. Extreme weather makes rainfall patterns hard to predict. Short excessive rains can potentially damage our manufacturing equipment, and threaten workers during their commute.
ZIG SHENG continues to implement energy management and increase energy efficiency; while also quantifying greenhouse gas emissions and pursuing larger energy conservation efforts.

The issue of climate change has become one of the most important issues in the world, and net zero carbon emission has also become the goal of the world's joint efforts. Early assessment of related risks can also respond to the impact of climate change in advance. GHG Management

ZIG SHENG strives to conserve energy and cut carbon emissions, reduce waste, and prevent pollution. In order to implement greenhouse gas emission controls as part of larger sustainability policy, the company voluntary calculates our total greenhouse gas emissions. We also conduct yearly audits of total greenhouse gas emissions in accordance with regulations set forth by the Environmental Protection Administration and our own internal measures.

Energy Management

In accordance with sustainable energy policies enacted by the Legislative Yuan, and to reduce overall energy consumption, ZIG SHENG introduced an ISO 50001 energy management system in 2018 to evaluate energy consumption in our factories. The evaluation helps determine the extent of our energy consumption, and to enact standards for energy efficiency metrics (2018 baseline). ZIG SHENG will use appropriate intervals and variables that affect energy usage and consumption to draw a baseline that will facilitate appropriate implementation and follow up of energy management policies. The company has already succeeded in increasing our overall energy efficiency.

Pollution Prevention

ZIG SHENG introduced an ISO 14001 Environmental Management System in 2013 and enacted relevant environmental management regulations and procedures (environmental evaluations, air pollution, water pollution, noise pollution, waste management, drinking water, energy usage, and chemicals etc.).
Our factories have already implemented these environmental management practices and our environmental management system has been certified by a third party (DNV GL Business Assurance Co., Ltd).
Based on the average water consumption in the past five years, the target is to reduce water consumption by 2% per year. The main measure is to recycle condensate water, and the water consumption reduced by 26.8% in 2022.

Green Products

ZIG SHENG has implemented a Global Recycling Standard (GRS) certified recycled production line as part of our larger sustainability policy. Our high quality ZISECO recycled products include nylon chips, nylon filaments, polyester filaments, DTY, and ATY. These five product categories are manufactured across seven production units and each one continues to receive third party certifications. Our customers love ZISECO; but more importantly, these products contribute to a greener tomorrow.
ZIG SHENG recycles waste yarn and purchases discarded fishing net to produce new sustainable textiles. The company expects to add a recycled bottle flake polyester chip production line in 2021 to further enhance the added-value of our products and increase profits.
